Learnlight is looking for a Senior Visual Designer to join our energetic Design team. We’re looking for someone who is a master of brand storytelling, who can take ideas and translate them into a myriad of emotions in our users. This role plays a strategic part in shaping the future of our products by being the closest to our users, understanding their desires and what makes them tick, and inspiring them to embark in a learning journey with us.

Responsibilities

  • Work through design problems from beginning to end, translating research insights and high– level concepts into ideas that form delightful user experiences, then designing the workflows, visual design, and detailed interactions to execute them.
  • Work through the initial ambiguous phases of the product design process, mapping business + customer needs to help define the vision and strategy for big bet ideas.
  • Create experiences that drive business growth while being globally scalable, locally relevant, inclusive, and equitable for all. Take our visual design language to the next level by creating stellar experiences and flows.
  • Utilize qualitative and quantitative (metrics/ data) insights to inform design decisions.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, data scientists, content strategists, and researchers to create products from initial definition to shipping and beyond.
  • Influence design decisions with cross– functional stakeholders and be an advocate for the customer.
  • Balance prioritization and delivery across multiple projects, in a strategic Design Lead capacity.
  • Lead by example. Coach less– experienced designers on best practices for design thinking and raise the bar for the quality of design outcomes.

  • Passionate about prototyping, animation, illustration, and responsive designs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Curious, open– minded, client– centered, and experimental approach to product design; a positive attitude that inspires and motivates others.
  • A positive attitude that pushes others to test their creative boundaries and a strong sense of motivation that enables both independent working and team collaboration.
  • Have the Core UX Design Skills required to facilitate design workshops, apply solution frameworks, create user flows, define IA, create wireframes, and create prototypes.
  • Be able to create clear and concise design presentations to Head of Product Management, Sales and Marketing teams, as well as to the Product Managers regarding proposed and approved product design modifications.
  • Understand how to design with constraints and how to break and challenge them.
  • Skilled in explaining your work, process, and decisions to cross– functional stakeholders and are receptive to feedback.
  • Portfolio demonstrating deep experience in visual design.
  • Problem– solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile.

Skills

  • C2 level of English required.
  • Strong expertise in design tools (ie Figma, sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, After effects, etc)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; both written and verbal.
  • Microsoft Office 365 required.
  • Good grasp of HTML and CSS concepts.

Education & Experience

  • 3– 5+ years of experience in the field of Visual Design or any related field, preferably in the EdTech industry.
  • Proven successful track record in designing front– end product visual or interface designs.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Graphic Design, Interface Design, Fine Art/Design, Advertising, or Marketing or a degree in any other related field.
  • Superior proficiency in the use of graphic design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suites, InDesign, Illustrator, 3D Max, Google SketchUp, 3D design software, Photoshop, etc.
  • Proficiency in the use of presentation tools and building business cases, such as Ms Office tools (Word, PowerPoint), any other is nice to have.
  • Experience working on a leading/mature design system.
  • Highly conceptual thinking in both visual and interaction design.

Details

  • Location: Office or Home– based (or a mix)
  • Travel: Ability to travel 1– 2 times a year, typically within Europe (if applicable)
  • Contract: Full– time
  • Schedule: +/– 2– 3 hours of European time zones
