Senior Specialist, Product Author / Technical Writer

Products Help Centre

As a Senior Specialist, Product Author / Technical Writer, you are part of the Alight Worklife® products team for International Payroll and Benefits and responsible for the creation, improvement and maintenance of the Help Center contents for all solutions that form part of the Alight Worklife platform in collaboration with the respective product managers and/or process owners. Your responsibilities also include creating awareness of the Help Center content within Alight and its clients base and monitor the adoption of it.

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the design of the Help Center engaging look and feel and content architecture
  • Create easy– to– read yet engaging written and/or multimedia contents for the various solutions housed on the Help Center. Produced contents should adhere to the help center content and writing style standards.
  • Work with product managers and owners to obtain an in– depth understanding of the products that require documenting in the help center and gather the required inputs to produce the help center contents autonomously (through conducting interviews with key stakeholders, researching existing knowledge repositories, etc)
  • Take end– to– end responsibility for the creation and maintenance of the help center content
  • Own the development of the Help Center editorial calendar in alignment with the products release calendar and ensure timely delivery of the content
  • Own the design of user engagement metrics and interpret these metrics to identify and implement areas of improvement
  • Own periodic quality reviews of the Help Center content and work with the assigned content owners to resolve any issues identified
  • Stay up– to– date with the latest industry documentation best practices and generate new ideas to draw the audience’s attention
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on our Help Center capabilities
  • Contribute to any project across the products organization when needed

Required skills for this position:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in English literature/language, communications, journalism, digital media or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Proven work experience as a content manager/editor or similar position
  • Proven knowledge on industry content documentation best practices
  • 5– 8 years of operational experience within the requested domain expertise
  • 2– 4 years of experience in operations outsourcing experience
  • PC literacy – Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MS Visio and/or other Process Flow software (advanced level), MadCap software and basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing
  • Knowledge of the Alight Worklife® products suite
  • Superior language proficiency in English
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills, able to convey written information in a simple and consistent manner
  • Systematic approach to problem solving with a desire to create a better future for our associates and clients (design thinking)
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work under pressure
  • Highly organized and able to work autonomously
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Client and quality focused
  • Ability to negotiate skillfully to achieve the right outcome for all parties including management, senior leaders and customers
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a global team environment across different geographies (team work) as well as to work independently and make sound decisions
