REMOTE ADAPTER/ CONTENT WRITER

As an Adapter (Spanish to English)/ Content Writer, you will be responsible for creating high– quality news pieces for one of the most prominent newspapers of the Spanish speaking world. You will work closely with the lead editor to understand the editorial guidelines, writing styles and journalistic ethics in creating engaging and timely news content. 

Responsibilities

• Write clear, concise, and engaging content that aligns with our readers voice and tone
• Read and adapt (no direct translations!) content from Spanish to English and edit any breaking news that may happen unexpectedly 
• Collaborate with our internal team to prioritize, adapt and upload news articles to the existing content management systems (CMS) 
• Optimize content for SEO and ensure it meets best practices for online content
• Manage multiple articles and deadlines simultaneously

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Content Writer/Adapter, preferably in a digital newspaper or magazine
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to write on a wide range of topics
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and how to optimize content for search engines
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) 
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field preferable

Additional Requirements

• Must have access to a reliable computer and high– speed internet connection
• Must have a portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate your ability to write for a variety of audiences and industries
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment
• Familiarity with social media platforms and experience creating content for social media is a plus

Offer

• Freelance contract with part time dedication including two weekend  days a month
