What you will do
The Assistant Editor supports the editorial team to help facilitate on-time and consistently high-quality electronic publications and e-newsletters, along with administrative support. Juggling many projects at once and keeping track of deadlines is fundamental. This role brings a marketing perspective to help broaden Governance Institute members’ awareness of how to access and use online resources and tools. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with project management abilities, excellent communication skills, quick to learn new concepts, a basic understanding of effective e-marketing and e-newsletter design, and willing to assist wherever the need arises.
What you need
- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, English, writing, literature, or journalism.
- 2 + years of experience providing administrative support in a professional publishing or similar environment.
- A high level of literacy in using Microsoft Office. Experience in InDesign, Photoshop, or other marketing/design software a plus.
- Basic experience with Web site design/html code, online newsletter/mass email forms, e-marketing, and social media platforms.
- Excellent verbal, written , and interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated interest in developing editorial skills.
- Ability to travel 10 % of the time .
